What energy and experiences can we expect in June 2009?
The Keepers are saying this is the month when it is time to decide how you really want to deal with turbulence. Remember the airplane metaphor that we have given to describe the year 2009? At this point you can imagine that you have reached your cruising altitude and now you are steadily moving forward in your work. As on an airplane, your life is going to have periods of turbulence and there is no way to avoid this. Some people have told themselves that the process of Enlightenment means moving to a time when there is no turbulence. That is not true. As long as you are a human being, even if you are an enlightened human being, you will encounter periods of turbulence. It is part of life. It is part of the creative process. It is an inevitable and actually quite magical by-product of experiencing yourself as a separate human being interacting with others.
During the month of June you will experience turbulence. The energy of the month is very much like a hill. The energy will distinctly go up and then go down. Some of you might experience this as a lot of effort at the beginning of the month and a great deal of ease at the second half of the month. Some of you might experience a feeling of steadiness going up but total chaos going down the other side. It will be different for each of you. The primary information about this month is that you are not in any danger. Just like on an airplane, turbulence does not really cause much harm, it just can cause a great deal of discomfort depending upon your approach. When you are sitting on an airplane with a group of other people, you will find that when you hit a period of turbulence, some people become very afraid -- so much so that they cannot think clearly. Others find themselves bored by the experience. Some find themselves delighted, enjoying the feeling of going up and down.
There are infinite different experiences of turbulence. Those experiences have everything to do with how you have decided to react or respond to turbulence. We know it is not as easy as just deciding because all of you have emotional baggage. All of you have patterns that, until you see them and heal them, are somewhat out of control of your conscious minds. We know this is not as easy as we are making it sound, but we are going to describe it this way because it is possible for you to make it this easy. The choice you have this month is a choice about how you experience turbulence. If we imagine the energy of the month as going up the first half and down the second half, then we could say that some of you will experience this as a very mild bump in the road, like a gentle rolling hill that takes very little effort to go up and does not cause much of an acceleration going down. Whereas others of you will experience it as a sharp spike where there is a strong drive upward to get to the summit and then a mad dash down the other side to get back down to the ground.
You may picture it like a bell curve chart. How tall and how steep those sides are depends on you. It depends on both your perspective and the choices you make about how you see and define the events in your life. It also depends on how well you have developed the stabilizers in your life. How well you have developed the practices, beliefs, relationships and the physical environment that supports your internal stability. There is not a sense that some of you are doing well and some of you are doing poorly here, so do not get attached to a judgment that if you are having difficulty this month that you have done something wrong. That is not the case. This is very neutral. Each of you has had the opportunities to develop stability in your lives, to develop things like meditation practice or healthy boundaries in your relationship. Really each of you has taken advantage of some of those and not of others. If it has not made glaringly obvious to you by now, it will become glaringly obvious whether you have done enough of that stabilizing or whether you need to do much more of it.
This is an excellent time to work with what you might think of as stability flaps on the wings of your airplane. This is a great time to ask yourself, "What is it that makes me centered in my life? What are those dynamics, situations, thoughts or those people that throw me off my center?" Continually move toward those things that bring you closer to center. As you do that this month, you will see the turbulence lessen. You will see the bell curve become less extreme. Remember many of you are here for the extreme rides of human life. Many of you are here for the thrill of the up and down. If that is the case, it is okay to keep riding it as long as you take accountability for the fact that is what you are doing. As long as you take accountability for the fact that it is your perspective, it is your reactions and in the end it truly is your choice as to how wild this ride is for you. That is the general energy for the month of June.
How can we best work with this energy?
Aside from what has been said, you might think about this metaphor. Imagine that you are a person standing on a railroad track with a very heavy train car weighing several tons, sitting on the track next to you. Imagine that you have been asked to push this train car forward. It is so heavy that it will take a great deal of effort to move it forward. You imagine you start pushing, you lean into it, you exert your muscles and you start pushing but it does not go anywhere. Imagine what you might do to gather the strength to get this thing moving. If you really imagine this, what you will recognize is that it does not serve you to reach outside of yourself. In fact, in order to gather the energy and focus the energy it will take to move this train forward, you need to come into the center of yourself. You need to focus on your breath, you need to maybe close your eyes or look at one still point. You need to come into your center in order to find the power that you are looking for. There is something really important about the personal experience of that true fact that the greatest power you can access comes from the still, quiet, center within you. It does not come when you are distracted by the needs or drama of others or the million different tasks you could use to distract yourself on an everyday basis. Your true power, the power that is required to get this train moving or to keep your life steadily moving forward, it comes from within you.
The best thing you can do this month, aside from what we have already said, is to really develop a loving and enjoyable relationship with the still, quiet place inside you -- with the place inside you where you know yourself well. You do not need to explain yourself or deny yourself anything. Some of you find this through meditation practice; some of you find it through physical exertion or exercise, like running. Some of you can simply find this simply by closing yourself in a room, like in the bathroom, closing and locking the door and giving yourself five or ten minutes in which you just look yourself in the eye using the mirror. Just look at yourself, look at your eyes and look long enough that you get past your initial judgments about your hair or the color of your face. Instead, look into your eyes until you recognize yourself; until you recognize a part of yourself. Allow an inner dialogue to develop. Imagine what you want to say to those eyes that you are seeing. Look for what those eyes are saying back to you. The inner dialogue is where you will find your strengths and it is the only place in which you will be able to create the kind of stability that will give you an enjoyable ride through this whole process that people have defined as the year 2012. Are there any important days for us to know about?
The answer is yes. June 5 and 6 are loaded with a lot of potential. You might think of this as the first big bump in this patch of turbulence. They are loaded with potential for you to see or try new things -- to move forward the old things. Just know that it is almost like you get an extra charge for your batteries on June 5 and 6. You might plan ahead for how you want to use that. You may find yourself experiencing things you were not expecting on these days. There are all kinds of new possibilities available. Just be prepared for anything on these two days.
June 7 has a different energy. June 7 is like a clearing. It is like a moment to take and keep a deep breath; to find your center again, to get reoriented. After June 7, you will have a whole series of bumps coming up as quickly as June 8 and 9 is when you will have the second bump. It is important on June 7 to center yourself, look for clarity. Consider doing something like journaling or talking with a good friend, anything that helps you think through clearly your situation. It will be really important, it will help you deal with the bumps that come on 5 and 6 and that come again on 8 and 9.
June 16 has a sense of innocence. It is a good day to connect with your inner child, to do something playful or creative. If you can take this day off or give yourself an extra hour in the day to play in a way that is unplanned or unstructured that allows you to be spontaneous. This is a great day to tap into the innocent child within you.
June 27 is what you could call, in some ways, the end of the energy for June. By June 27, you will have a new energy, like a fresh breeze coming in. August is bringing in a windstorm in the form of new energy, a new kind of charge. You will start to see things stirring starting on June 27. Look for new opportunities or a new perspective on the work you have been doing for the past three months starting on June 27.
Is there anything else the Keepers want to tell us about June 2009?
You are growing, every single one of you. None of you is stuck. At this point on Planet Earth, there is not a single human being that is stuck. Some of you have like an old record playing, telling you that you are stuck. You keep telling yourself that you are stuck and even when you are moving forward, you do not ever really take control of your forward motion. You keep pretending that you are stuck. Eventually it becomes an excuse to not have control or to not take care of what is yours to take care of in your life. Make it clear beginning this month, that none of you is stuck. Some of you pause, some of you got hung up on one thing or another, but it is always temporary. None of you is as permanently stuck as you sometimes imagine. You cannot excuse yourself from steering your life. If you do not steer it, someone else is not going to steer it. You are just going to wobble around and suffer the consequences or the turbulence of that. This month, for those of you who often tell yourselves that you are stuck, is a great time to decide to take the wheel, to decide that you are moving forward whether you like it or not. Start making decisions about which direction you are going to move in. It is no longer a choice whether you move forward or not. You get to decide which direction to try.
There really is a sense this month that you are all in the same boat. Think again of the image of being on an airplane and experiencing turbulence. No one on the airplane is not experiencing turbulence. Some of you enjoy it and some of you hate it, but you are all being bumped around. Let that feeling that you are all in this together. Guide your relationships, associations and attitude about the people in your life. Have patience and be kind. If you are suffering or not, be willing to look across the aisle or look out at the people in your life and recognize that they may be really struggling. Have some patience and tenderness, let it be reassuring to know that you are all in this together. You are not in danger; you are growing.
